The beautiful countryside and various sports facilities offer opportunities for cycling, hiking, swimming, walking the dogs, fishing or working out. There are also beautiful hills and valleys for nature walks, spa trails and, if you feel like it, a wealth of cultural activities. Music festivals, fairs, spring openings and much more are regularly held right on the spa colonnade and in the town centre.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Luha\u010dovice Spa<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The famous spa town, which was not missed by greats such as Masaryk and \u010capek, offers a wide range of relaxation and regeneration. We recommend it as a walking destination, as it is located about 3 km from our guesthouse. You will be captivated by the ubiquitous unspoilt nature and greenery, as well as the magnificent architecture and history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Colonnade<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Luha\u010dovice Colonnade is the obvious choice for all visitors to the spa town. In 2019, the colonnade was extensively renovated, yet it has retained its original unique and historical character. You will find plenty of healing springs here, you can choose for yourself according to your taste. The information centre, located a short walk from the colonnade, will be able to advise you, and you can taste genuine spa wafers on the way. Let yourself be absorbed by the true spa atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Healing springs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Discover the healing effects of all the mineral springs and be enchanted by their health benefits. In Luha\u010dovice you will find nearly twenty types of healing springs and each of them contains unique healing properties. The most famous of them is Vincentka, an exceptional natural mineral water that can improve breathing or alleviate diabetes. Other springs are also worthy of attention, such as the folk Ottovka, Aloiska or the very interesting Dr. \u0160t'astn\u00fd Spring. Spa houses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The unique architecture and Art Nouveau buildings of this town will stick in your mind. The city's conservation area extends through the centre, where you will find historically rich and valuable buildings. You will remember the uniqueness and unmistakable spirit of the buildings thanks to the architect Du\u0161an Jurkovi\u010d. Among his creations are the famous Jurkovi\u010d House, located in the centre of the spa, as well as the Hawk's Villa, the Chaloupka, the Music Pavilion, the Sunny Spa, the Water Treatment Institute and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fun at the dam<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As a guest of our guesthouse, you will have fun without having to travel anywhere. Simply step outside the guesthouse and the adventure begins. Swimwear in your backpack, skates on your feet, goggles on your eyes, a smile on your face and you're ready to go, you won't be bored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ideal place for fun and relaxation in the hot summer months. The swimming pool is only 500 metres away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fishing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Luha\u010dovice Dam is one of the best stocked water bodies in Moravia. The reservoir was cleaned in 2012. Thanks to the draining and removal of all sediments, you can be sure that you will find only the desired species of fish. In-line trail<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The most visited trail in Luha\u010dovice and its surroundings is the one around the dam, which is 3.3 km long. You can put on in-line skates and visit several interesting and fun places along the way, such as the swimming pool or the rope centre. You will enjoy the inviting landscape and arrive back at your accommodation after the circuit. If you still want to get fit, you will find a pleasant three-kilometre trail between Luha\u010dovice and Biskupice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pir\u00e1tsk\u00e1 z\u00e1toka Children's Rope Centre<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Pirate's Cove is located on the opposite bank of the dam and can be reached by the adjacent circular path. Even children can manage the walk, the rope park is only 1.3 km away. The game disciplines in the rope centre are designed in different levels of difficulty, so they suit children of all ages. Tourism<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The landscape of Luha\u010dovice and Pozlovice is surrounded by the enchanting nature of the White Carpathians and the Vizovice Highlands. Your visit to the Luha\u010dovice Spa and a taste of the healing mineral springs will be perfectly accentuated by a walk to recharge your batteries and the local climate. If you are a fan of nature walks, whether short and easy or you prefer to go for a proper hike, there are several hiking trails to choose from in Luha\u010dovice and its surroundings. The hills of the White Carpathians are definitely worth a visit. There are vast forests full of mushrooms, picturesque peaks of the surrounding hills, and above all numerous flowering meadows full of colourful orchids. The area of the White Carpathians micro-region is situated between Velk\u00e1 Javo\u0159ina and Velk\u00fd Lopen\u00edk, their two highest peaks. Velk\u00e1 Javo\u0159ina<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It takes about an hour to drive from the guesthouse to the start of the climb. At 970 m above sea level, it is the highest peak of the White Carpathians, located on the border with Slovakia. The landscape full of forests here is truly unique and since 2008 it has been declared a old forest.
The slowest and most frequently used route follows the red hiking trail and starts from the starting point called Kamenn\u00e1 bouda. Two other routes lead to the top. The climb is not too difficult, so even children can take part in it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Velk\u00fd Lopen\u00edk<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It takes about half an hour by car from the guesthouse to the start of the route. Velk\u00fd Lopen\u00edk with its height of 911 m above sea level is the fourth highest peak of the White Carpathians, which also extends over the Slovak border. At the top of Velk\u00fd Lopen\u00edk there is a lookout tower from which there is a magnificent view of the Czech and Slovak landscapes. There are several hiking trails leading to the top, all around 5 km long, and the climb is also suitable for children.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Culture<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Concerts<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You don't have to go far to listen to live music either. The Spa Square or the Elektra Cinema is often the stage for many artists who cover a wide range of genres. Whether you are interested in brass, dulcimer, jazz, swing, pop or rock, there is always something for you. You can also visit Zl\u00edn, Uhersk\u00fd Brod or Uhersk\u00e9 Hradi\u0161t\u011b for live music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Festivals and events<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Luha\u010dovice is also associated with various events and festivals. The most famous is the music festival dedicated to the composer Leo\u0161 Jan\u00e1\u010dek called Festival Jan\u00e1\u010dek a Luha\u010dovice. For enthusiasts of independent culture, the Luhovan\u00fd Vincent festival in Luha\u010dovice, which takes place every year at the end of June, is perfect. Gourmets should not miss the Gastro Festival in Uhersk\u00fd Brod, for example, where they can taste different variations of burgers, spreads, sausages, farm delicacies, to caterpillars, grasshoppers or dishes typical from Asia and Mexico. The biggest festivals in the region are undoubtedly the film festivals in Uhersk\u00e9 Hradi\u0161t\u011b and Zl\u00edn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other events worth visiting include the Slov\u00e1ck\u00e9 Festival of Wine and Open Monuments or the Slov\u00e1ck\u00e9 L\u00e9to (Slovak summer) in Hradi\u0161t\u011b, the Kopani\u010d\u00e1\u0159sk\u00e9 slavnosti (Kopanice festival) in Star\u00fd Hrozenkov, Ride the of Kings in Vl\u010dnov, open cellars in Pole\u0161ovice or the Days of People of Good Will in Velehrad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fair<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Although fairs are mainly a Christmas event, they are also held on other special occasions, such as the Opening of the Springs in Luha\u010dovice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Opening the springs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Every year in May, the Opening of the Springs is held to officially open the spa season. It is one of the most beautiful events in the region. On this occasion, the mineral springs are illuminated with a folk procession, a vintage car parade, a fair and a display of period costumes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cycling<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Another option for active leisure in the vicinity of the Luha\u010dovice dam is undoubtedly cycling. Cycling trails lead mostly through open countryside with beautiful views, passing through meadows and forests, you can ride along the Ba\u0165a Canal and you will not miss several picturesque villages and valleys. Various trips<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Uhersk\u00fd Brod<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Uhersk\u00fd Brod can be reached in twenty minutes by car, and it's definitely worth the detour. It is not for nothing that the town is called royal, thanks to its elevation by P\u0159emysl Otakar II, who granted this title in the 13th century. But the most important historical fact is that Jan Amos Komensk\u00fd, nicknamed the teacher of nations, worked here. Not only was he supposedly born in Uhersk\u00fd Brod, but there is also a local museum dedicated to him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are interested in history, you can explore the town through the Town Monument Zone Trail, which will show you all the landmarks of the town. The pride of Uhersk\u00fd Brod is, among other things, the Delf\u00edn aquapark, the observatory and planetarium, the theatre, the cinema and the ice rink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uhersk\u00e9 Hradi\u0161t\u011b<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Uhersk\u00e9 Hradi\u0161t\u011b, less than an hour away, is also a town with a rich history. The town was founded by King P\u0159emysl Otakar II in the 13th century and in 2011 was awarded the title of \"Historic Town.\" In the core lies the town's conservation area with many sights. It is worth visiting the Rochus Open-air Museum, Slovak Museum, Slovak Theatre, Aquapark, or the nearby Monument of Great Moravia. If you are interested in an exhibition of animals made from old, unnecessary iron, visit the Kovozoo in Star\u00e9 M\u011bsto near Uhersk\u00e9 Hradi\u0161t\u011b.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vl\u010dnov<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Perla Slov\u00e1cka or the village of kings. Even so, one could call this village famous for the May Ride of the Kings, registered by UNESCO on the list of masterpieces of oral and intangible heritage. Also worth mentioning are the blue-and-white houses called \"budy,\" which are the largest set of heritage-protected vineyard buildings in the Czech Republic. The village is also known for the colorful beauty of its costumes, winemaking and a wide range of folk traditions and customs. In addition, two cycle paths and two hiking routes pass through Vl\u010dnov, through which you can get a glimpse of the traditional way of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zl\u00edn<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It takes less than half an hour to get to Zl\u00edn, the heart of the Ba\u0165a brand. The year 1894 marked the beginning of Zl\u00edn's rise, when the city grew with the founding of this famous company. It only began to take its present form in the interwar period with the construction of the Bata houses and skyscraper in a functionalist style, which give Zl\u00edn its uniqueness and separateness from all other regional cities. The skyscraper is open to the public, you can take a peek into the office of J. A. Ba\u0165a or visit the roof of the building, from which you can enjoy an unusual view of Zl\u00edn. The tall building is popularly known as the twenty one. The name implies that it boasts the number 21 and you will find it on the premises of Svit. Zl\u00edn also has a municipal theatre, a cinema, a swimming pool, an aqua park or a virtual arena, and plenty of escape games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ZOO Le\u0161n\u00e1 with a castle<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

One of the landmarks is the zoo located just outside of Zl\u00edn in the village of \u0160t\u00edpa. No wonder it is the Czech Republic's second most visited zoo and one of the most popular attractions in the country. There is also a castle from 1893, owned by the Seilern family until the end of World War II.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u017d\u00edtkov\u00e1<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The place where the goddesses of \u017ditkov\u00e1 lived is less than an hour away. According to local legend, women with special, even magical, powers lived in the village. Around \u017d\u00edtkov\u00e1 there is unspoilt nature and the beauty of the original houses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Velehrad<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Within an hour you can reach the spiritual town of Velehrad, one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the Czech Republic. The local Baroque basilica is a national cultural monument and in 1990 St. John Paul II celebrated Mass there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Archeoskanzen Modr\u00e1<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A fortification next to Velehrad that preserves the memory of how life was lived in the times of Great Moravia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vizovice (Rudolf Jelinek)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In Vizovice, the gateway to Wallachia, you will not only find a beautiful castle (see Castles and Chateaus). The most famous is the Rudolf Jel\u00ednek company, which has a tradition of more than four centuries in the production of spirits. The company offers excursions to the fruit brandy production hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kunovice Aviation Museum<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In Kunovice in the Uhersk\u00e9 Hradi\u0161t\u011b region you will find a museum with exhibitions documenting aviation history and aircraft production. You can enjoy sport, transport and military aircraft, as well as legendary aerotaxis or other exceptional aircraft with an interesting history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a recent reconstruction, the castle boasts, among other things, a beer spa. These should not be missing on your list, you can reach them in half an hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Buchlov Castle and Buchlovice Chateau<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Buchlov Castle is one of the oldest castles in the Czech Republic and a landmark of the Slov\u00e1cko region. Below the castle is the important Baroque Buchlovice Chateau. This unique historical complex has been featured in several Czech films, such as The Devil's Bride or The Brave Blacksmith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lukov Castle<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Just behind the ZOO in Zl\u00edn is the now Gothic ruin of Lukov Castle, which still has a preserved pillar bridge and gate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vizovice Castle<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In Vizovice, you can also visit the architecturally pure Baroque chateau with its rich interiors, where many events take place throughout the year, such as concerts, children's days, exhibitions, night tours or a picnic day in the park.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Winter skating<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When the weather cooperates and the dam freezes over, you will not only see a spectacular sight, but also the opportunity to enjoy it. Winter sports and hockey enthusiasts can pack their skates and head out onto the frozen dam, where there is no shortage of places to skate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Skiing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Those who like winter skiing will find a ski slope with a ski lift right in the centre of Luha\u010dovice. It is not the longest, but it is close to the centre. If you don't mind driving a few kilometres to longer slopes, there are several in the area. In half an hour you can get to the Mikul\u010din Vrch ski resort and in about three quarters of an hour to the Stupava ski resort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cross-country skiing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
